Where industry meets intimacy, an ageing structure finds a new rhythm and life. Inherited as a dilapidated building four to five decades old, the project began with the decision to work with what remained. Rather than erase its past, the existing frame was carefully reworked for contemporary life. Slabs and beams were cut to carve out two double height atriums: one linking the ground and first floors through a stainless steel staircase, the other connecting the first floor to a newly added second floor through a sculptural spiral stair. These interventions draw light deep within and turn movement between levels into the heart of the building. Its transformation preserves the memory of the original building while giving everyday work an open, connected and generous setting. Wrapped in Corten steel and held within its original structure, the building is less a replacement than a renewal: an old shell adapted with precision, warmth and new purpose. Translucent glass blocks, blue accents and stainless steel shape the general office, while timber, textiles and art bring warmth to the executive spaces. The double height atriums carry distinct characters, creating transition zones. Above, a glass enclosed lounge opens onto terrace gardens, where foliage, sky and light soften the rhythms of work. Through these contrasts, the building moves between focus and pause, precision and warmth.
