The school brief was to design this one and then create similar “Prototype” schools all across sub-urban areas of West Bengal . Being an initiative by a private promoter as a CSR activity of their organization, the aim is to provide quality education in sub-urban areas at affordable prices .

The design of the school therefore required to have a language unique enough to be identified as a “Prototype” school on one hand and on the other hand needed to be basic and low cost to make the project viable for the Client. The school has thus been designed with some amount of modularity so that the language can be replicated in various locations. Simple elements, vibrant colours, ease of construction , sustainable building design technology, minimizing soil fill and incorporating the low level of land as design element are the key design considerations which evolved this simple yet welcoming architecture vibrant enough to excite the students to come to school everyday thus full filling the intention of the promoter in spreading quality mass education across the weaker section of the community.
